Paul has a Bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Music and a Master’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an earned Ph.D. Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  His research interests focus on volunteer programming and its impact on the long-term care facility.  In addition, he teaches online courses in gerontology.

Paul is married to Mary Falkowski for 46 years now.  Mary shares Paul’s passion for serving the elderly. She is currently the service coordinator for Trinity Courtyard in Papillion, Nebraska.

Paul has won numerous awards for his work to include: 2016 nominee for academic advisor of the year for the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2011 nominee for the Midwestern Association of Graduate School, “Excellence in Teaching Award,” and the 2008 “New Cassel Distinguished Service Award.”

He has a passion for life and living, he values owning our responsibility to others and having the courage to do the right thing, and his vision is discovering volunteers as our work-ready resource to enhance the quality of life for people living in nursing homes.
